This executive short course is a full-time training which focuses on the design, implementation and evaluation of programmes dedicated to the prevention and mitigation of sexual violence.
This course is delivered in partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross, Médecins sans Frontières, Handicap International, OHCHR, UNFPA and UNHCR.
Course objectives
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the phenomenon of sexual violence in conflict and emergencies
- Identify and assess the extent and causes of sexual violence in a specific context; and
- Conceive a programme centred on victims/survivors of sexual violence.

Audience
- Professionals in the humanitarian, development or social sector looking to develop their competencies as well as reflect and capitalise on their experiences.
- Professionals from other sectors who wish to increase their understanding of the humanitarian sector for a potential career change.
- Graduate students with relevant volunteer or intern experience, looking to undertake a post-graduate course with a view to entering the humanitarian sector.
Certification
2 ECTS recognized by the University of Geneva and the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID).
Participants
Mid-level and senior-level managers with experience or plans to work in conflict and emergency settings. Prerequisites for the course are a university bachelor's degree (or equivalent), and at least 3 years of professional experience.
